Recently, Orquesta Canela stopped by the LP office during the band's East Coast tour for a photo shoot and recording session in LP's photo/recording studio. The all-female band from Colombia, which was started twelve years ago by Maria Fernanda Munera (who began as the group's percussionist and now is its manager) features LP artists Alexandra Alban (congas), Elizabeth Delgado (timbales) and Anayanci Hoyos (bongos).
While in New York City, they performed to a full-capacity crowd at The Copacabana, and inspired countless numbers of women who aspire to be serious, working percussionists. More information about Orquesta Canela can be found on the band's website: www.orquestacanela.com.
